Description

The Tangled Heart Plant (scientifically known as Ceropegia woodii) is a trailing succulent, commonly referred to as String of Hearts. It has delicate, heart-shaped leaves that grow along thin, wiry stems. These leaves are typically green with a silvery or purple pattern, creating an attractive contrast. The plant is native to Southern Africa and is well-loved for its ornamental beauty and low-maintenance nature.

It produces small, tubular, and often fragrant flowers that resemble a heart or an elongated lantern, usually in

shades of purple or maroon. The Tangled Heart Plant thrives in bright, indirect light, making it an excellent choice for indoor spaces. It also tolerates dry conditions, requiring only occasional watering, and prefers well-draining soil.

Due to its trailing growth habit, the Tangled Heart Plant is often used in hanging baskets or as a decorative element on shelves or ledges, where its vines can cascade gracefully.

. Light Requirements

Ideal Light: It thrives in bright, indirect light. A spot near a window with filtered light is perfect. Direct sunlight can scorch its leaves, especially during the hottest parts of the day.

Low Light Tolerance: While it can survive in lower light conditions, the plant’s growth may slow down, and the variegation on the leaves might fade.

2. Watering

Watering Frequency: Like most succulents, it is drought-tolerant and prefers to dry out between waterings.

3. Soil

Well-Draining Soil: The Tangled Heart Plant prefers well-draining soil that doesn’t retain excess moisture. A cactus or succulent mix is ideal. If using regular potting soil, consider adding perlite or sand to improve drainage.

4. Temperature

Optimal Temperature Range: The plant thrives in warm conditions, with ideal temperatures between 65°F to 85°F (18°C to 29°C).
